Opening a New Account

You can open a new account either online or during your visit at a branch of GBH Private Bank. If you decide to open your account online via the Internet, please follow the following instructions:

  • Click on the "Open New Account Online" link
  • Fill in all required information in the online application for opening a new account
  • Confirm opening of your new account

Your personal GBH Private Bank banker will contact you within 48 hours and will send you your already completed forms and contract on your account management. You will sign these contracts and send them together with the required documentation via post service or DHL/FedEx courier service to the bank.

The second option you have is to complete the contracts needed for opening your personal or business account and send them and the required information via post service or DHL/FedEx courier service to the bank. You can find the needed contracts and documentation at the Downloads link, from where you can download them to your computer, print them, fill them out and send them to the bank.

The third option available to you is to personally visit our bank and open your account with assistance from a GBH Private Bank personal banker.

Whatever method of opening a bank account you decide to use - online, by mail or at a branch of the bank, please be aware that in order to be able to provide bank services of a high professional quality, the bank requires from all its clients several documents as a condition for opening a bank account:

Required documentation for personal accounts:

  • If you are a citizen or resident of the Dominican Republic, your personal ID card is sufficient. If you live permanently outside of the Dominican Republic, you will have to produce two identification documents, for example, a copy of your passport or personal identification card (or possibly another document that prooves your identity).
  • Proof of your residency (water bill, electricity bill, telephone bill, gas bill, bank reference or some other document from which your address can be verified).

Required documentation for business accounts:

  • If you are a citizen or resident of the Dominican Republic, your personal ID card is sufficient. If you live permanently outside of the Dominican Republic, you will have to produce two identification documents, for example, a copy of your passport or personal identification card (or possibly another document that prooves your identity). A proof of identity must be submitted by all persons who will have the right to sign and right of disposal with regard to the given account.
  • Proof of your residency (water bill, electricity bill, telephone bill, gas bill, bank reference or some other document from which your address can be verified).
  • A copy of an excerpt from the companies register or of a document to prove the company's foundation.
  • Articles of Incorporation or Memorandum of Association.
